In 2022, Maya Akashika's exhibition 'Osaka Directory 1', an opening show of the Osaka Directory series of solo exhibitions of young artists organized by Nakanoshima Art Museum exhibition by The Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka, successfully experimented on 'Sense of The Absence'.Inspired by China's largest ghost town and her curiosity on the conceptual idea of ghost amongst us, she portrays the strange non-human presence of reality. The exhibition is a selection of portrait photographs combined with drawings, videos, texts, and interactives, yet left something missing for the audience to inspect what is the 'something' that exists but can't be seen.
